Terms of Use

Last updated: May 30, 2026

Who we are

Call Vault is a product of Sage Mode, LLC, a software company based in the United States. Sage Mode, LLC owns and operates the Call Vault app and the getcallvault.app website. References to "we," "our," or "us" in these terms refer to Sage Mode, LLC.

Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using the Call Vault app or visiting this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app or this website.

The app

Call Vault is a personal-use call and text message management application, currently available on Android. An iPhone version is in development. The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. While we work hard to keep it reliable, we cannot guarantee it will catch every spam call or text in all situations.

Call screening requires Android 10 (API 29) or later. On older devices, some blocking features may not be available.

You are responsible for ensuring the app is compatible with your device and operating system version before purchase.

Permitted use

You may use Call Vault only for lawful personal purposes. You may not:

  • Use the app to intercept communications in ways prohibited by law
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • Use the app on behalf of others without their consent
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app

Emergency services: Call Vault permanently whitelists emergency numbers and will never block them. This includes 911, 988 (US); 999, 101, 111 (UK); 112 (EU/international); 106 (Australia); 105 (New Zealand); and other locally recognised emergency numbers. No configuration or block rule can override this protection.

Community reporting: Call Vault uses two mechanisms to submit anonymous spam reports to our community database: (1) Automatic reporting — when you manually block a phone number that is not in your contacts, Call Vault automatically submits an anonymous report containing only that phone number's digits. This is on by default and can be disabled at any time in Settings → Privacy & Data → Community Protection. Pattern blocks (e.g. 1800*) and keyword blocks are never auto-reported. Numbers already in your contacts are never auto-reported. (2) Manual reporting — you can tap the flag icon on any blocked call or message to report a number with a specific category (e.g. robocall, scam, telemarketer) and an optional note. No message content is ever included in any report — only phone number digits. Reports are used solely to improve spam detection for all users. Numbers receiving three or more independent reports may be added to the Spam Shield Database. Reports are anonymous and cannot be retracted. Do not report numbers that are not spam. Abuse of the reporting feature (e.g. mass reporting legitimate numbers) may result in rate limiting.

Private Icon feature: The optional private icon (Calculator or Notes appearance) is intended for personal privacy protection — for example, preventing others from identifying that you use a call-blocking app. It is not intended or permitted to be used to deceive or defraud any person.

Country-specific terms

Certain laws apply only in specific countries. The following notices apply to users in those regions.

🇺🇸 United States

ECPA consent: Use Call Vault only on your own device with your own consent. Using it to intercept another person's communications without their knowledge may violate the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA).

Accuracy: We do not claim to block 100% of spam calls. Call Vault significantly reduces spam calls but cannot guarantee interception of every unwanted call.

SMS limitation: On Android 4.4+, blocked texts may still appear in your default SMS app if Call Vault is not set as your default. Notifications for blocked texts are always suppressed.

2FA and bank calls: To prevent false positives, add your bank, pharmacy, and two-factor authentication numbers to the Always Allowed list in the Block tab.

🇨🇦 Canada

CASL: Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation applies to commercial electronic messages. Only reply to blocked texts from numbers you have an existing relationship with. Do not use Call Vault's SMS reply feature to send unsolicited commercial messages.

🇬🇧🇪🇺 United Kingdom / EU / Ireland

GDPR lawful basis: Call Vault processes call and text data on your device under two lawful bases: consent (you installed the app) and legitimate interest (protection from spam and scam communications).

Right to deletion: All data is stored locally on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app. You can also delete all data manually: open Settings → Danger Zone → Reset App. No request to us is required.

🍎 iOS (future version)

The Calculator and Notes icon disguise options will not be available on the iOS App Store version of Call Vault. All other features will be available subject to iOS platform limitations.

Subscription and billing

Call Vault Premium is available as a monthly subscription ($3.99/mo) or annual subscription ($24.99/yr), processed through Google Play. As a limited-time Founder's Access offer, the first 1,000 Google Play users receive 12 months of Premium at no charge — no card required, no charge until the promotional period ends. All billing is handled by Google — we do not store your payment information.

Automatic renewal. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Renewal charges appear in your Google Play account.

Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Google Play Store: open the Play Store app, tap your profile icon, go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, find Call Vault, and tap Cancel. Access continues until the end of your current paid period.

Refunds. All purchases are subject to Google Play's refund policy. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund, visit your Google Play order history at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory.

Price changes. We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes take effect at your next renewal. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Call Vault and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use or inability to use the app — including missed calls, unblocked spam, or data loss. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
